Tote Bag #2 .
New Year project is a tote bag.
This first version was posted on 20th May 2017, it bigger and heavier leather material.
Please view the previous post title Tote Bag #1.
This is a thicker material suitable for base of tote bag.
The base is of appropriate size 11 cm by 36 cm

Making a tubular leather handle / leather craft tutorials

In this video I am showing you how to make a tubular leather handle entirely by hand.

Was busy with other project, now have time to update this tote bag.

Cut nylon rope to required length |

Terminate end of rope |

Glue rope to center of material |

Add reinforcement layer and

Position handle to tote bag |

Press edge with plastic smooth surface |

Tips- One way to hold handle on table
edge with clamp |

Draw straight line to assist
cutting |

Position the handle to table edge |

Slowly cut off excess edge |

Use divider to reference to edge |
Pre punch hole on handle and top edge of bag.
Use awl to locate punch hole position.
Update on 17th March 2021.
Tips:- It easier to use awl tip to locate and align the punch hole for it to match between both layer.
Use of string to force the handle U shape from running off when stitching

Tips:- Alternative is to temporary stitch both handle with clips or use sew thread to hold it in position.
Each way have the pro and con and depend on your preference.
There is no right or wrong way, as there are other method to achieve your project needs.
