WET Form Leather project #3 Scissor sheath

           Wet form for scissor project #3 Scissor sheath

This new scissor (scissor Germany , 9 inch with diamond brand mark).

Found this scissor need to sharpen it edge, add lock tight for nut and general cleaning. Apply a light oil for certain area near nut and screw.

Try out wet form for this scissor.

23 cm length scissor

Install rivet and button VT5 size

Test strap fit it purpose

Tips, to remove diamond punch with
metal bar to slide off.

It challenging to sharpen scissor as there are old sharp mark on edge, however it take longer than normal to re sharpen edge.πŸ‘

WET Form Leather project #2 Scissor sheath

           πŸ‘€ Another scissor sheath using harder veg tan material.
This scissor sheath use the wet form method.

After wet veg tan leather with running water.
Remove excess water before staple it

While it is wet, slowly mould the shape with your finger from time to time. As the leather is still soft and easier to shape as required.
leave it to dry. Then remove staples #13 size"bullet"


Tips:- try use hair dryer to speed it up but watch out not to over heat up too fast. As it can cause leather to wrasp.


Tips:- Remover staple with care using test pen or any sharp tool. Do with great care in the process

After several hour of drying the leather
was removed from the wood base.

Compare the scissorr against the leather form

Cut a paper base layer for support

WET Form Leather project #1 (thread clipper)

                Try a new project for wet form leather
this project is on trail basis and experimenting new method and verify type of leather to use.

Try a simple shape for wet leather

Wet leather piece, need to press
and let it soak thru

Press the pattern and get ready to
strap piece to a wood surface


















It best to wrap the project with plastic wrap to prevent tool get wet.













 ⚠  Please wait on next update..as it take quite a while for the leather to dry out before can proceed to next step.


                          
This is another project for scissor sheath , same wet form technique.
    ✋ So do take care of your tool not to get wet or rust will surface out. More work in that case.
Wrap tool for this project, this is minimize
it get wet and rust later.

Ensure proper wrap with plastic sheet


Use tape for final wrap point

Check leather is correct size for
project

Wet leather

Ensure all leather is wet

Remove excess water
Shape contour while leather is soft

rub outline of edge

Staple leather to wooden surface

Remove from wooden base

Cut outline

Use a sharp knife for this purpose

Free hand cutting

Add base layer
