This is a non leather project, repair Panasonic ceiling fan.
Recently encounter burning smell coming from a ceiling fan.
Found two parts burnt 1) Fan speed capacitor and 2) Varistor, reference designation D114 (“ZNR” Transient/Surge Absorbers )
After replacing both part ceiling fan is now functional.
Very obvious part failure thru visual inspection.
The burnt varistor or part number ZNR V10511U - Transient/Surge Absorbers

Note: If you encounter a Panasonic ceiling fan speed issue, there are batch issue on three capacitors, some shop are selling the capacitor as a set. A search internet there are numerous web site mention these issue or problem.
