This still in experimenting stage for stitching pony project.
It is to improve the stitching pony design on a clamping device attached in between the clamping plate. There are several design for clamping device which they have pro and con.
Material list for clamping device for stitching pony (“spoked nut” fits in between clamp face jaw)
This design is unique is that it have no high point to minimize thread or lace to get hook or get entangle.
If the project is big hence longer thread are required . This have higher tendency for the thread loop to entangle, which this design is trying to minimize.
1) SUS Socket Head cap screw – M10 x 50mm (approx. 2 inch)
2) SUS Hexagon bolt – M10 x 50mm (approx. 2 inch)
3) SUS Nuts – M10
4) SUS flat washer – M10
5) PVC pipe 13mm (½ inch) cut to length of 6 cm ( 2.5 inch)
Work in progress .... thank you for taking time to view this project. 👂

Another interesting point is there a number of design for clamping device and each have the PRO and CON.
There are several clamp design type in market.
a) quick release bolts you have on bicycles
Pro – simple clamp action and fast and easy to operate.
CON- handle can get thread entangle
Insufficient gap the stroke of the bicycle bolt is too short.
The jaws of the stitching pony won´t open enough to be useful..
Lace or thread will catch on the handle
b) Wing Nut
Pro - Simple to make and cheap
CON - a) The whole thing rotated when you tried to tighten it.
b) The wing itself was to small and kept hurting fingers.
c) Wing nut can get thread entanglement.
c) Toggle Clamp
Pro - Fast to clamp on and release.
CON - a) Possible thread get entanglement.
b) cost price for device.
d) Knob type
Pro - Simple turn knob, minimize thread entanglement.
CON - Tension need time to turn.

These are tips from expert for workaround to minimize thread entanglement on stitching pony tool knob or wing nut.
Work in progress .... on updating inform.
