Non leather repair, Soft bag with torn edge - 革の修理なし、端が破れたソフトバッグ

    Received a soft travel bag for repair, with torn edge at top near to zipper from a friend. He use this soft bag extensively for travelling purpose. 友人から、上部のジッパー近くの端が破れた柔らかいトラベルバッグを修理のために受け取りました。 彼はこのソフトバッグを旅行目的に広く使用しています。

Inside view of soft bag to verify and check the extend the damage area of the bag. ソフトバッグの内側から見て、バッグの損傷範囲の広がりを確認してください。

The width of damage is about five fingers. Can see the torn area have some material split and fraying, need to remove them before start work. ダメージの幅は指5本分くらい。 破れた部分には材料の裂け目やほつれがあることがわかります。作業を開始する前にそれらを取り除く必要があります。

Some fray fabric stuck in between zipper, it easy to remove them. ジッパーの間に生地のほつれが挟まっていますが、簡単に取り除くことができます。

This shows the fray material at the edge. これは端の素材のほつれを示しています。

Use pin to prevent the split to expand and also to help grip the part together. ピンを使用すると、裂け目が広がるのを防ぎ、パーツをしっかりと固定することができます。

Use lighter to heat and seal the nylon edge and prevent fraying. ライターを使って加熱してナイロンの端を密閉し、ほつれを防ぎます。

Use low heat and slowly melt the fabric and ensure it only heat selected edge. 低温で生地をゆっくりと溶かし、選択した端のみを加熱するようにします。

Method is to roughly stitch with needle and thread first, so as to hold them in position. 方法は、まず針と糸を使って位置を固定するように大まかに縫います。

Use a big paper clip to hold down the cloth material when feeding as the seam wrap up or uneven . As it is not flat and cause it to wrap over the stitch on pressor foot surface. In this situation use a zig zap pattern . 縫い目が巻き付いたり不均一になったりする場合は、布地を送り込むときに大きなクリップを使用して布地を押さえてください。 平らではないため、押え表面の縫い目を巻き込んでしまいます。 この状況では、ジグザップ パターンを使用します。

When fully wrap up as a small bag to carry around. 丸めると小さなバッグとして持ち歩けます。

 This is a straight forward repair task, if you have basic skill and tools it should be not an issue. However in any repair need to take note of tools that are sharp and are dangerous, do take care in any repair work as there are always risk involved.

                How to repair where laminate floor board over time it expand and contract. This result in gap in between board. This resulted in dirt and other unwanted dirt stuck and it visually ugly and making difficult to clean or mopping surface.

Place marker after checking done on floor board at surrounding area and plan which location to start repair first.

Measurement of gap with Vernier tools, it give a idea the gap size. It is to prepare how much strike on flooring, an estimate only.

First try using masking tape with glue and wooden block, Not sure why it did not work . Hence use alternative technique.

Use a metal piece and gently know the gap, once the gap is bigger then change to wood block method.

AFTER repair done the gap is minimum, but the other end have a gap which is attended soon.

This technique is quite straight forward, just to take precaution when knocking the wooden block with hammer.

Alternative method to use double sided tape with masking tape to hold the wooden block. Of course before is to removed any dirt or dust from the gap. As sometime there might be dirt trap inside gap. It recommend use vacuum cleaner to suck any dirt / dust.

両面テープとマスキングテープを使用して木製ブロックを固定する代替方法。 もちろんその前に隙間の汚れやホコリを取り除きます。 場合によっては、隙間に汚れが溜まる可能性があります。 ゴミやホコリを吸い取るには掃除機を使用することをお勧めします。

Stick masking tape onto floor board surface. 床板の表面にマスキングテープを貼ります。

Place wooden plank on top of masking tape. マスキングテープの上に木の板を置きます。

This is an example how to close gap on laminate floor board.

Non leather repair for wooden sliding door and adjustment - 木製引き戸のノンレザー修理と調整

 One sliding wooden door at time slide smoothly and at time jam (tight to move door) along the track. This repair is at UK house and notice this issue is not a major issue, as suspect it is due to door alignment, bottom track (which is not this case, as the door is hanging with a sliding mechanism. 1 つの木製の引き戸が、線路に沿ってスムーズにスライドしたり、時には詰まったり (ドアを動かすのにきつく) なります。 この修理は英国の住宅で行われていますが、この問題はドアの位置と下部のトラックが原因であると思われるため、大きな問題ではないことがわかります（ドアはスライド機構で吊り下げられているため、このケースではありません）。

Initial check on the level and gap between door bottom edge to floor (as the floor was recently re do floor board), check the door frame, check door wooden shape and design (this sliding door have glass panel). ドアの下端と床の間のレベルと隙間を最初に確認し（床は最近床板を張り替えたので）、ドアフレームを確認し、ドアの木の形状とデザインを確認します（この引き戸にはガラスパネルが付いています）。

Check for gap between door bottom edge to wooden flooring. Slide the door to verify gap changes in size.

This sliding door have two glass panel, this make it heavier and the weight load bear on the sliding mechanism. 

Attached a card board to door bottom it is verify when door slide from right to left and vise versa does it changes in position. It is confirm gap variation when door slide along.

Use a 13mm open end spanner to tighten nut and screw. 13mm オープンエンドスパナを使用してナットとネジを締めます。

Overall view of sliding door fully open position, try a few time to open and close position and check the latch mechanism is not impacted by this adjustment.

This issue was due to top roller mechanism need adjustment and it resolve the issue.
