This is minimize the balcony railing does have minimum bruising the new paint work.

Take measurement on balcony railing for leather to warp around

Use big clamp to hold leather into desire shape.

Punch hole for button and cloth line hook

Prepare to place button fastener.

Work in progress for the other side of the cloth hanging device.

Cable Organizer #5 (projector)

Simple cable organizer for office projector on VGA interface cable.

Cut two slot for opening at one of the leather strap.

This is what the end product looks like for cable organizer which simple and straight forward.
* Do not need special tools and skill.
** Simple and use scrap leather material.
*** easy to do for all people and simple design for it intended purpose.

Non Leather Project #6 (Wooden Mallet)

Saw how expensive a wooden mallet, which if we have the right tools and wooden material every thing is possible and save cost. What can we ask for more with right skill set, tools and material available on hand.

 Some of the basic wood working tools, collected over thirty year. This basic requirement for tools to make our work less stressful and enjoyable.

Drill stand and Bosh Electric drill, sander and jack plane

Spray lacquer on handle and mallet head after porper sand down.

Assistance help suck up unwanted wooden chip from block. Using chisel to slowly trim and dig deeper to enable handle to fit in.

Non Leather Project # 8 (Own Trolley Handle Wrap)

This trolley belong to my daughter, after cleaning and apply oil and grease to all four wheel.
             Next step to wrap the handle.

Use a long plywood as a base for cutting long raw leather. As the table cutting is not long enough.

Make measurement on trolley handle

 Fix the loud and squeaking sound issue.
Remove all four caster wheel.

As this design it need to dismantle the caster wheel to gain access to the ball bearing and tube sleeving for proper oiling purpose.

These are the basic tools a) Measuring tape the flexible version b) Plywood base of sufficient width and length, c) Sharp knife for cutting leather material d) Pen or pencil e) Long steel ruler














To be continue... next challenge is to punch hole along edge and use long thread with curve needle.

Due unforeseen circumstance and timing we have to abort this project and shelf it.
Sorry my daughter need her trolley urgently and that the END of project, that is life.

LADY luck with me, the trolley was laying  idle, hence took time to repair the floor base and wrap leather on handle.

Sharing update on the trolley handle wrap with leather.

The leather surface looks like a bit fading due to exposure to sunlight. The texture is not smooth and some peeling surface.

Leather Stripper #3

               This how we choose leather material for making man belt (30 mm, 35 mm and 40 mm).

Step 1. choose appropriate raw leather material

In this case we choose a Belting Alaska Leather
there is three choice colour

The position of the cutting blade need correct position to minimize leather running off and skip and end result leather is worthless and have to scrap. This is an expensive lesson.

Set up on the floor, later notice it need a certain changes to make it easier to draw the leather as we pull in the direction toward user.

First cut line is important as it will impact the entice belt. hence have to pay special attention.

You will notice since the leather material is big and heavy so pay great attention to add roller and or wooden plank to create a smooth work flow movement to assist in cutting to get better result.

Use pier or in this case I have special pier for shoe repair to help draw the leather material.

As you can see the underneath of the leather is support to transfer the flow movement as smooth as possible.

In this case the plywood is resting on a small stool and clamp with G clamp device to  plywood base.
It is vital the splitter need to be "solid grounded"

Non Leather Repair #10 (Watch Strap repair)

A friend watch with complaint the metal strap cannot hold and it keep dropping off.
Found one tiny part was missing from the strap hence the strap cannot keep in close position.

Have to find way to replace missing part.

 The open and closing mechanism is on the right side.

This is the open hole to allow a tiny head to catch to close

Sorry for delay on update still working project. 

As it is very challenging to find the same type of pin materials for repair.

Also manage to find workshop specialize in welding small metal parts within Penang Island and Butterworth area. However after discussing with the owner, they opt for leather strap replacement.

Update 15th August 2020.

Since it is difficult to source the same material type to weld them together, the next alternative is to replace with a leather strap.

Non Leather Repair #9 (Car battery terminal connector)

Was washing car and open bonnet to check battery and wiper water tank.
Saw the Negative terminal was loose even the screw and nut is in tighten position.

 Negative terminal loose, just lift off easily BUT car can start without issue, but not sure when in re-charge mode?

Add battery terminal strap to increase size of terminal connector

Tools and material for repair task.
