Past few days was busy with key chain holder project and found a very old key chain.
Comparison between current and old project. It good to see what improvement by learning and gain experience so far.

| First few project done, can see the poor stitching as try use sewing machine. |
Have identify poor in stitching as did not know the correct method to punch hole, lack proper tool (use normal sewing machine), perform stitching as limited knowledge, thread type and needle type is limited.
The flap to hold the button is not done properly. Poor in termination of thread, poor edge cutting, offset in position for button hole. The center piece is short on one end and expose, no sign burnishing on all edge.
It show weakness on correct and better way to mount the key chain to leather materials.
It is a great way to learn and practice.

New key chain project using two dissimilar leather material and join them to become "pattern" for center piece.
Also it to enhance the project as it unique design.
Try stamping pattern along the edge. Did not wet the leather, straight dry method.

Remove the other end of center piece is to use hand press to rivet the key chain part.
The method use here to align both leather piece together to make it easier to punch hole in preparation for stitching work.
During stitching there a few way to bind the two leather depending the stitch style is used. Apply glue along edge of leather meets.
There is no one preference, just try them out as we goes along. Have encounter initial difficulty for this stitching for termination the thread at start and end process.

Is there a difference if the receiver is mounted vertically
or horizontally with respect to the flap edge? Any difference to open and
close flap base on different position of receiver (female parts)?
