Non leather project #8 (KItchen countertop netting)

This is a slightly difficulty project base on my experience. The kitchen counter top below does not have cabinet, so decided to attached a frame to hold sliding netting door.
*Sorry if I did not use the correct terminology for this project as still learning.

Use super strength epoxy glue to  attached aluminum tube frame 2" x 1" to the cement floor so to create cabinet.
The same goes for epoxy apply to five "L" bracket mounted on the wall to support the aluminum tube frame.

Use tape to temporary hold the upper frame part. Insert plastic film

Prepare to apply epoxy glue on top of  "L" shape bracket to attach aluminum frame so that the frame are "solid"

Check all bracket before to ensure it is ready to hold the 2" x 1 " aluminium frame for lower part.

The lower frame with both end cover to prevent insect entering, hence in our case we use scrap leather and epoxy to seal the gap.

Temporary use tape to hold the frame to allow the glue to harden and set.

Non Leather Repair #8 (Table edge and Shoe repair)

One of our office table with damage by the side skirt peel off.
So repair is done, this is very simple repair job. However it best to clean both surface before applying glue and hardener


1) Table with peel off side skirting.

these are the tools however with proper sandpaper might be faster and better cleaning.
However we make do with what is available at the time and location by using sharp blade to scrap the surface

End result after repair and waiting for glue to harden before remove tape.












2) One of colleague shoe with it flower pattern drop off.

This is the problem face by user.

Check and clean surface before apply gule, same goes to the shoe toe area.
Proper treatment is very important step for any repair work using gule

Check correct orientation

These are tje tools required for this simple repair.
For shoe repair there several step and correct tool available.
Since was not aware of it I did not bring those item but make do with what available at that time.

Non leather project #7 (Jack Plane and Electric planer)

     Simple way to protect our tools base on the following example

1) Jack plane, protect sharp and smooth under surface.

2) Electric Black and Desk Planer,protect sharp and smooth under surface

Make measurement and trace pattern

Look for simple strap loop over handle to secure it position and yet easy to unbuckle









Design the base surface

Apply hardener with gule to ensure better adhesive between two parts

Recently the front grill door mosquito netting which is fabric or non metallic material due to aging and wear and tear . It need to repair and replacing it.

It need special roller tool, however if you do not have it will take slightly longer to complete the task.

Trim to remove stray wire with scissor. This to minimize stray sharp end poke your hand and finger.

Special roller for inserting edge netting into groove. Watch out the sharp pointed netting wire of stainless steel wire.

Use light weight device to hold down the curly stainless steel netting.

Tool required is special roller wheel, scissor

Non Leather Project #6 (Sharpen Kitchen Knife)

When your kitchen knife is dull it and give funny end result because of it. Hence it very important to re-sharpen the knife if the edge is dull.

Non Leather Repair #6 (Wooden Stool Repair)

This project was pending since late Step 2018.. now continue with repair.
The seat was broken, the cross bar is broken.

Join a few plank for the seat, then next step cut to shape and size for stool

Cut the sharp corner and user sander to round off the corner and the edge.

Use rubber glue

Use paper to trace the four leg position

 Check size of new seat against old chair seat to ensure it match and not over size or under size.

Attach paper mask to pick the chair led position for hole

Joint wood and cut to required size and proceed to sandpaper and sealant for gap between joint

slowly peel off paper mask fromo old chair seat

slowly remove double sided tape from old chair seat

Remove paper mask template with
position of the hole for chair leg
