Coin Purse #2

Slight variation for coin purse with two pocket.

Step by step to make coin purse.

Preparation for punch hole for edge.

Use thread to hold the other side of edge temporary when glue the opposite edge.

Add a small tag for button

Prepare for gule both tag flap.

Coin Purse #1

This coin purse was done recently, but did not share the dimension for the coin purse with double pouch.

Related to previous project dated 29th July 2018 ( title - Past Project)

The sequence to fabricate is important in this case. First fabricate the center piece (make out of two side layer) will make life easier and manageable.
Burnish the center piece (top facing edge) before assembly.

Of course the outer layer need to burnish the top edge.

Update on 19th Oct 2018.

Tips to trim excess edge and burnish done. This will help
to ensure straight and smooth edge when cutting a drain line.
This is to greatly improve on punch hole are thru and align for both top and bottom punch hole match.

Another idea was to add an extra pocket. Insert additional layer and it become three pocket. However do take into consideration on thickness when add more layer.

*Note:- It better not to use thicker and harder leather material in this project. As it become more difficult to punch hole for stitching.

Key Chain #01

New design key chain holder.

This new design is base on Pinterest web site.

Note:- Previous key chain project, dated 4th July 2018 , of similar type and design.

Add a simple leather strip attached to
key ring to make it easier to retrieve key.

This was done as a gift for one relative from Hong Kong.

End product of project.

This design have the base leather offset from the edge. It also use a softer leather (Cow Veg Tan belly). The strap use a thicker leather which is about the same thickness of the key ring.

Share some tips and best practice.

Use a scrap leather to raise height
when cut "drain" line. This to minimize
uneven pressure at edge.

Use bamboo chop stick to hold soft leather edge ,make it easier for burnishing work.

Use S/S ruler and insert in between leather piece. To allow us to concentrate on other side to attach leather piece first.

Non Leather Repair (Umbrella tip)

SPECIAL repair project (non leather related project)

Have a very special repair which is non leather project request from a relative, her umbrella cum walking apparatus with a rubber foot tip worn off.

This result in loud tapping noise when she uses her umbrella/cum walking apparatus on floor surface.

Took this as challenge to repair this small issue arises due to wear and tear from the metal tip protrusion from rubber layer.

As the metal edge of the umbrella tip slowly cut off the rubber layer. After checking the design. Suspect there is limited buffer zone to minimize metal edge in contact with inner rubber foot assembly.

Hence modify to minimize metal tip in contact with rubber foot. I have added a rubber stopper at the tip point to minimize impact to rubber foot.

Noted the rubber stopper move due to user pressing the umbrella tip to floor. Thus add a short hard rubber stem inside the umbrella tip to minimize the rubber stopper retract.

Cut a #15 rubber stopper for this repair. This rubber stopper is to minimize metal tip from making contact to rubber foot. Hopefully it will minimize contact between metal tip and inner rubber layer.

Note:- the replacement rubber sheet is source from a supplier which have a wide range of foot wear parts. Select a rough surface rubber sheet meant for shoe repair.

HDD carrying pouch #3

Slight design change for Hard Disk Drive pouch/ casing.

End product of hard disk drive casing / pouch.

This new design have one flap to fasten hard disk drive and interface cable pouch. Have make the interface cable pouch to be bigger to accommodate USB 3 cable.
This one flap fastener to keep both items intact and also quicker to retrieve item.

Step by step to fabricate project

Tips:- use a steel ruler edge to help to align the pouch edge in position during guling process.

iPhone Charger holder #1

Another interesting project is iPhone Charger holder.

At time we need to have the charger and mobile phone at wall mains plug point.
This is one idea I saw from Pinterest web site and try it out.

Note:- it better to have proper insulating materials as it hook on to the mains power point. This is for safety for the user.
