Leather Shopping Aid tool #1

This project is about shopping aid

Create a simple tool when goes for shopping with recycle bag or plastic bag. Because it is to use to relief pressure on your hand and finger during long shopping activity when carrying handle which can cause stress and pain and leave red mark.

How to use shopping aid

Overall view of shopping aid, it can be use for both recycle bag handle or plastic bag "ear" handle.

** note:- after try using this shopping aid device, notice the leather material if too soft it might not perform for it intent purpose. However it also depend on each individual needs to use different material type and experiment to gage which material type to use. Happy experiment and have a nice day.

Key Chain project

View on some of the type of key chain project done earlier.

Various design for 4 head key chain project. Sharing project idea.

Some project have the edge with stitches.

Some with tag for concealing button.

Some with hook which are permanent.

This is an example where the hook is permanent attached.

This one version with hook attached to key chain.

You would have notice the hook is fix type.

This is where the hook is hidden behind and it can be fold back.

This is where the hook is not hidden and can fold back.

Both these key chain have moveable hook. Moveable hook is accomplish by use leather band to wrap on the hook device side. We use a rivet to hold this band together and allow the band to move freely. Ensure during process of riveting not to over tighten. This is to allow some space for the hook move easier.

Another design for key chain is use a different method to store keys.

This design have some limitation is the number of key is restricted by the key ring size. Another point is the user might accidentally turn the key ring and end result is very dependence on how the user position and handling the key.
Nothing is perfect but there is alway a work around to handle this situation.

Each design have it own shape and handling the key chain.

This is to show when it is fully extended during use.

New project DVD pouch #1

First version of DVD pouch

Sharing new project and best practice in leather craft - project DVD casing.

Attached a hard paper layer for support on the inner side. It also to seal two button post.

Use of paper cutting to measure dimension for the outer layer to ensure it fit it needs.

Prepare for glue surface by remove certain portion of top surface to better adhesion between two surface.

Prepare surface for pouch stitching

Use pony stitching two leather piece for the pouch layer.

Folding top layer to base and prepare for stitching work.

Play around with different tool to create simple pattern design.

It is fun but not so sure the owner downstair might complaint on knocking sound when start making emboss pattern with stamping tool.

Cable Organizer and Coin Purse

New leather material for coin purse.
Encounter great difficulty to punch hole for stitching, due to two layer of veg tan material (about 3mm thickness).
Have difficulty to punch due to hard like rock material or may i do not have skill yet or incorrect tool set ??

The two piece of flap was very tough and encounter difficulty to punch a clear hole.
Need more time to punch hole.
Not sure if there are other technique for this situation.

This is one of the pouch, have stitch the edge and burnishing done for the top edge.

This material was not use due to texture design and uneven surface have make it difficult as coin purse project. * issue in marking and uneven thread length difficulty to mark and punch hole with diamond punch device.
