Own unit Dyson V10 model where issue is the vacuum cleaner run for a few second and stop.
There are some You Tube video BUT the solution are different and found the issue is the motor control board is defective and not the switch module.
Order a new motor assembly as the whole as per image below
As the unit is old, it best ti take note when retighten screw as the plastic get worn off if the screw is tighten too hard, as it can peel of the plastic and make future more challenging.

Our Dyson DC59 has been steadily losing suction over the last year and I decided to try and sort the issue out. After I cleaned the filter, cleaned the motorised head and stripped down and cleaned the cyclone assembly the vacuum was back to full suction!
