2023 Mid Autumn Festival in UK - - 2023 年英国の中秋節

 Hello ALL blogger another year have flow thru after the scary event of COVID in 2020 to 2023 we are recovering from that negative event.

Once again we come to Mid Autumn Festival but this round it is celebrated in UK.

This date 29th Sept in UK (HULL local time)  where the moon cake festival begin.. Sorry did not see moon and drink Chinese tea,  carry lanterns,  play sparkler.. as it is cold of temperature of about 15deg C. 

こんにちは、ブロガーの皆さん、2020年から2023年にかけて新型コロナウイルスという恐ろしい出来事があった後、もう一年が経過し、私たちはそのネガティブな出来事から立ち直っています。

再び中秋節がやってきますが、今回は英国で祝われます。

イギリスでは9月29日（ハル現地時間）から月餅祭りが始まります。気温15℃くらいで寒いので、月を見たり、中国茶を飲んだり、提灯を持ったり、線香花火をしたりできなかったのが残念です。

大家好，在 2020 年至 2023 年的新冠肺炎可怕事件之后，又过去了一年，我们正在从那次负面事件中恢复过来。

我们又迎来了中秋节，但这一次是在英国庆祝的。

英国9月29日（赫尔当地时间）月饼节开始了。抱歉没有看到月亮，喝中国茶，提灯笼，玩烟花。因为天气很冷，气温大约15摄氏度。

Did you know, Winter Solstice / Dongzhi Festival is deemed more important and auspicious than the Lunar Chinese New Year because in Ancient China, the winters were treacherous and hard and often unforgiving. 

At the end of Autumn where all the yearly crops were stored to withstand this uncertain season when no one was able to farm their fields or tend to their crops and animals anymore on a daily basis, the older ones were seen to be more vulnerable and most were more susceptible to death and often felt weary, wondering if they would live to see the coming spring. 

For some, it would be their last year, but for most, they can only hope ... 

So at Winter Solstice, the onset of the first night of winter, where the days are shorter and the nights terribly long, families gather, grinding rice they have to make flour for Tong Yuen to symbolize a full circle of life and to celebrate one more year added to the lives of everyone, especially the elderly. 

Thus the belief that everyone was a year older than yesterday's autumn.

The significance of tong yuen is the binding of flour and water, family and strong tradition. The moulding with the hands of everyone in the family, old and young to shape round balls of togetherness and the syrup a sweet end to their year long hardships. A time well spent as a whole family.

It was never a religious celebration but rather a traditional one, one filled with love and hope, with grand food for everyone. A sort of  celebration to mark the beginning or perhaps an end, a time of heed, a time for reflection and contemplation. 

Then after the celebrations, they wait and listen for the coming of Spring.

Happy Winter Solstice everyone, may you always be surrounded by people who matter most, who would weather the coldest winters with you and stick by you no matter what.

          But could not detect any water leakage when static test (pour full level of cold water into tank and use newspaper to test leakage was done, (after soaking it for about 3 hour) If there is any water leak the newspaper will have water mark, but in this case there is none.

How to Trim leather belt to size ( 革ベルトのサイズを調整する方法 )

 A request from a friend with leather belt, need to trim to size.

                     This friend lady belt purchase from Italy , Quelli della Pelle. Hand Made in BELLAGIO. ITALY. 

Specification :- Length 105 cm thickness 3.2mm , width 20mm. One prong buckle (prong pin is 4 mm diameter),

                      この友人の女性のベルトはイタリアの Quelli della Pelle から購入しました。 BELLAGIO でハンドメイドで作られています。 イタリア。

仕様:- 長さ105cm、厚さ3.2mm、幅20mm。 1 本爪バックル (爪ピンは直径 4 mm)

For this belt trimming case, have propose four options .

** Please view attached document (one page) with drawing and information to decide better.

Option #1 – punch additional hole towards the buckle direction and make one new belt keeper/loop. Retain original buckle and belt keeper/loop. Belt overall length is maintain at 105cm

Option #2 – Trim off part the leather end towards the buckle, then fold that end and stitch to hold the belt keeper/loop. Hence the belt is shorter and need to punch holes additional towards the tips. Belt overall length is shorter approx 93cm

Option #3 - Trim off part the leather end towards the buckle, but buy a new clip on / ratchet buckle that fit the size (20mm width with prong diameter of 4 mm). Belt overall length is shorter approx 98cm

Option #4 - Trim off part the leather end towards the buckle. Get another leather strap of 20mm width to attached to belt end that was trim off. Stitch new leather strap to belt and retain old belt keeper/loop, retain original buckle. Belt overall length is shorter approx 100cm.

Provide these option for end user to decide on how to approach this case.

* note :- have highlight to owner the original belt have two snap on button which is difficult to remove and reuse then. Also at this point in time cannot source locally for similar snap on button type, size, material. Hence have recommend to use thread stitching after trimming belt (applicable for option #3 and #4 only).

 This is my trail and error project.. Any suggestion is most welcome ok?

Repair Cabinet door hinge problem ( キャビネットのドアのヒンジの問題を修理する )

 One of the kitchen cabinet door have issue, when close both door there are wide gap. This indicate one of the door hinge have an issue.

キッチンキャビネットのドアの1つに問題があり、両方のドアを閉めると大きな隙間があります。 これは、ドアのヒンジの 1 つに問題があることを示しています。

The cabinet of extreme left is with door on left panel is having issue cannot close properly. after troubleshooting, trail and error found the issue.

If you look closer and inspect the top two door panel edge have gap compare to the bottom edge.

Fist time encounter so loosen all two hinge screws from door to inspect , do troubleshooting and verify. In this case the top hinge was faulty in the sense the metal plate "U" cut was out of position (see photo below)

His method is to drill a dove pin into the cabinet and seal it with wood glue. Once harden to cut off excess length and drill a small pilot hole to guide the screw head thread.

Repair Lamp touch dimmer

 This repair is electrical device, hence be careful and take all necessary safety step.

Issue with this table lamp touch device does  not response to user touch, cannot turn on. check plug fuse, lamp bulb status is o\k.

Identify product model and specification.

Found out it cheaper to buy the whole touch dimmer module than to do component repair as cost difference in gap for price is very low

Just received a replacement module ( four wire to PCB)

1) Red

2) White

3) Black

4) Yellow wire with ring lug

Tested ok and return to owner.
