Tote Bag # 9 (new design) special request for big odd size.

They selected the leather material from a shop in Sri Kebangaan shop and request to fabricate and  maximize the leather material purchase.

Handle for tote bag.
Since this tote bag is big so will the handle.
Have never try make this long handle to match the bag overall size

Have also make finger protector for this project

Due to the extended length the stitching pony also need to
have extra support for the project

This is one example how I to add support to help in doing stitching work

Compare the handle in relation to the bag size.

This leather material was selected by a relative at a leather craft shop in Sri Kebangaan area.

Leather project #7 Summary on Scissor Sheath

Leather project #7 Summary on scissor sheath

This is to summarize on type of pivoted scissor, design, functionality and shape of scissor sheath.
These are some common scissor I have access or I own some of them. Of course there is a wide range of scissor design to fit the wide ranges base on your needs and requirement.

Overall view of type , shape, size and design of scissor so far I had encountered.

There so many type and functionality scissor which make it a real challenge to design a sheath for them.

However it pose a real challenge each scissor sheath I design was to make it easy to use and ease of removal and insertion.

Close up view of scissors for a typical tailor (fabric shear) use .
Sharing certain type and design of scissor sheath.

From left side is basic  scissor sheath uses thick paper base material wrap round with discarded leather strip.

Second from left is another scissor sheath, it consist of two leather shape according to scissor profile. It is wrap with discarded leather strip (after skiver a leather the discarded material)

From Right side is simple scissor sheath encase the the left side basic scissor sheath casing. Add button strap to minimize movement when a scissor is inserted.

I try to design a scissor sheath that match the user needs and ease to store and retrieve it.

This is a very earlier design for this type of scissor. it big and type of holder it simple.
The inside is another layer (material could be scrap leather or paper base sheet) to minimize leather surface wear and tear.

More to come in future on scissor sheath type . Hope you like any design and please let me know if interested on more details. Thank you for your support and have a nice day.

Note what display here is a typical type of scissor I encountered.
However if you are interested on type of scissor there are numerous web site to surf to have greater understanding.

Leather project #5 Scissor sheath PART #4 (Friend's scissor sheath try out)

Final post - Leather project #5 Scissor sheath PART #4 .

This is end result of pain staking work to repair this original sheath.

Disassemble sheath and do simple cleaning on inside and outside layer.

Note the bigger layer use to wrap around to act as belt holder for user. The wrap around edge is be skive to allow easy path for both tool to be inserted.

Missing or torn off leather parts are inspected to find way to fill "gap"

Replace missing rivet.

Show example how to fill missing leather part.

The original leather surface was covered by some harden material. Hence use sharp tool tip and magnifying glass to slowly remove it and apply restoring leather liquid to clean surface.

Tools required for this work task is
1) toothbrush,
