We have several door closer defectives in our condominium office community , I was surprise why it is not repair and they just buy new unit to replace ONLY.

This is a house in UK at HULL, notice the external wall at rear with leaking gutter for upper level. This resulted in the kitchen glass outside of window dirty surface , water mark , splashing water on floor and hence need to clean and scarping window surface more often.

The challenge is find the correct pipe accessories to match the original.

Then decide to use a long canvas material to act a temporary gutter until a more permanent repair to gutter

Before use of canvas, have tried use cardboard and heavy duct tape and apply and use recycle plastic strap for better support on the edge and use leathercraft thread to hold as support.

Since the new gutter need install on wall hence buy steel nail to attached. Also use of canvas strap to act as support to hold the base of cardboard to wall.

However manage to salvage some throw away pipe and buy some materials from car boot sale.

Go to hardware shop at HULL  ( Chanterlands DIY & Hardware), they have limited parts on hand, the owner was kind enough to suggest try other hardware outlet within HULL area.

Since there are some many type and variety of piping size, shape, design , material, interlocking version and wide selection to choose and match old and new materials.

First attempt was to try apply whatever type sealant or water proof  material to seal whatever the area with leakage.

I was wrong in this approach was because the pipe was old and wear and tear does not work in this case or situation.

 Close up view on the joint and it does not looks any better. Then another approach was to ask around and check on internet for looks for alternative solution.

Take measurement and examine closely the T joint type , size and shape.

Still leaking but the method use was not very good way, so back to drawing board..💭💭
